There was a sign near this one asking, "do you feel sorry for the lions?"It was followed by completely convincing reasons why one shouldn't feel sorry for the lions.
I'm sure he's just resting, he's had a long day of wondering whether he made the right choice between a slow, agonizing death in front of illiterate tourists or the quick, painless death of a hunter's gun.

These are night shots from Muryoko-in, located on Koyasan mountain.
Muryoko-in is a Buddhist temple that offers lodging. There are over 50 such temples in Koyasan. We stayed one night and participated in morning prayer.
